Feather Nails with NYC Lexington Lilac

Hello darlings!!

Can’t contain the smiles the sun is bringing on my face !!
I bought a *crazy lot but not enough* bit of stuff for Summer and can’t wait to try on 🙂

I have been holding on to this polish for quite a while now, wanting to use it, just didn’t get a chance ..
These are 2 coats, no top coat. Easy application. Lilac color with grey undertones.

Now I wanted to do something fun.. So I pulled out a feather from one of my down filled jackets and while polish was a little wet, I placed it on the nail with tweezers….

Cut the extra feather off with scissors or cuticle clippers. Avoid a top coat as my Seche Vite made a gooey mess and drowned the feather in it… Overall I loved the polish and coat me $1.99 at CVS.. The feather was an added touch 🙂 although a few crystals added to the whole look will be very fun … !!

Essie Rasberry

Hello friends..
Today I want to share the Essie Rasberry. It’s a fun color, best described as a fuchsia-red (you know what I mean)..! It’s a cream finish, single coat opaque but two coats for best results. The best part is like the usual Easie formula, polish balances out itself on the nail so you get a smooth finish. Pictures are with a top coat.

Since this is a berry color, I am holding the bottle against the LVX Chambord, swatched here, for a color comparison.

Turns out, colors are quite different !! There is nothing like this color in my stash so that’s interesting 🙂

I added two coats of NYC Starry Silver Glitter , first swatched here on the ascent nail.

NYC – Charming Rose Creme

Hello there ..

With the days getting darker and cloudy it’s a challenge to pick a color that stands out but yet subtle.
Last night I digged into my stash and picked a rather old and ignored color the NYC- Charming Rose Creme
Its a frost finish , definitely Not a Creme as the name suggests.

The color is best described a blend of purple-pink with more of a pink tone. It is well pigmented and dries pretty well. I needed ony two coats to get a nice opaqueness and the color to really stand out. However the brush was super thin, I was going back and forth between each brush stroke for the paint. The finish is not streak free But the color lasts long and it’s really matchable to some opi shades … For the price , it’s surely worth trying.

Spoiled by Wet n Wild – My Button Fell Off & NYC 105 Starry Silver Glitter

Hey people,

So here is my new buy from CVS , the Spoiled -My Button Fell Off… A very light baby pink and a NYC glitter- 105 Starry Silver.

Single coat. (with a base coat)

I put on a second coat but still not too opaque. Although the drying time is very little ..

This is two coats of “My Button Fell Off”

And this is the final ..three coats..that’s what I needed for full opaquity and finish

Camera doesn’t do justice but its a very pretty color and it’s A little of a baby pink .. This picture was taken inside around 1 am !! So it’s not really what it looks like.. Sorry…

The glitter polish from NYC Starty Silver ( it can be passed for Opi – polka.com) was nice and easy to spread. Has macro silver , pink and blues with a micro silver. .. Nice and a little different than a few others I own..
And here it is the next day

And sadly this is at night .. This is about 24 hours after application .. Notice how it’s chipped and unfortunately it’s not even my prominent hand .. Kinda disappointing …

I never wear a top coat but this never happened so fast with any nail paint ..Infact all other Spoiled polished I have used have really lasted long, this was the first cream composition I used by Spoiled and was absolutely disappointed ..  I suppose this brand is great for Metallica but not cream formulas .. Took the polish right off within    24 hours …

White Nail Paint .. Pro Or No…

Hey Bloggies ..

I have always been kinda attracted to the magic of white.. The white that includes all the colors yet has no color on its own .. Interesting …
Well, I have used a white nail paint before but the poor bottle got dried up after just a couple of uses and long time avoidance to its existence 😦
So , here I am .. Back with my fight with white ..
I purchased two brands from CVS.. The NYC 134 French White Tip and the Spoiled by Wet n Wild – Correctuon Tape.. Both cost me $1.99

Spoiled by Wet n Wild : Correction Tape

On my thumb: 2 coats of Spoiled Correction Tape Nail Color (no base coat or top coat)

My Index finger wears two coats of NYC 134 French White Tip (no base coats or top coat)

The verdict : Spoiled polish has a much opaque and a smooth finish than the NYC. The opaquity of the Spoiled is definitely noticeable !
Now , when I opened the bottle here is the close-up of the brush for the Spoiled Nail Paint ..

And again :

But to be honest, took a quick snip and all was nice and ready to go ..
The thickness difference in the two brushes was quite noticeable ..

The top is from the NYC polish and the bottom one is from the Spoiled collection by Wet n Wild

But to be honest, I liked the thicker brush of the Spoiled Polish more .. Takes about two strokes to cover my nail bed, the NYC is like painting a canvas with a pencil crayon, a bit annoying to my likes ..
Overall .. A white is to a nail paint collection what the black dress is to a wardrobe .. A must have And can never go out of fashion or use ..
but yes, smallest flaws are
Highlighted on white nail paints and even though they bring this strange catchiness to the eye, they do take over the colors from
Almost anything ( including food) you dip your hands into … So if you plan on an evening out , either eat and go or Oder what u don’t need to touch ..

10 Professional Nail Lacquer & NYC TriBeCa Silver

Hey people 🙂

Got me a red nail paint.
This is the color:

And I quite like it ! I have this for a while now and it didn’t go bad or anything. The brush is real nice and the application is very convenient. The polish is a thinner formula compared to a few others but has a surprisingly good coverage and even a single coat looks pretty good, I am showing you what a single coats looks like without a base or a top coat. The polish has a shine that looks perfect for any occasion use.
Finally I ended up applying two coats which dried in less than two minute.
I was trying on a somewhat ombré look,
But I tried to tweak it a bit.. Here is what I used :

It’s the NYC TriBeCa silver , it has a nice glitter to it but applies well..

And I thought why not be a bit crazy and use a cotton swab, so nothing fancy but I just dipped it right into the bottle :

I then dabbed it on the tips of the nails while going back into the polish bottle for a color recharge .. And this is the end result ..

Overall I loved the look, but I just think it’s more suited for a Christmas time 🙂
I looked sparkly and the red really popped .. I didn’t use a top coat and I was good and shiny :))
So lemme know how you like it ..
Or maybe post some pictures of your versions of ombré ..

NYC Matt Me Crazy, Mattifying Top Coat Review

Here is the picture of the bottle:

FRONT VIEW

REAR VIEW
Well , I got mine from Target Store for $1.99. I have seen other brands that sell the top costs at a much higher price .. But frankly for the price, and the use .. This works just great !
So I applied a very old, nail paint .. I got it as a gift in a whole make-up box about 6 years back and I don’t remember the name .. But here is the color:

This is what it looks like applied: ( single coat)

And this is after applying the NYC Matt Top Coat :

And this is taken the next day :

Overall : it does highlight the flaws of a nail paint application.. But it’s super wise to buy the topcoat , rather than buy nail paints in Matt Finish and shake your pockets inside-out  🙂Â
