Available in 3 shades, Revlon has come up with its own take on the cult favourite Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks.
Just shy of $10 USD, it’s a 5 color strip in one palette deal. It comes in a clear plastic case with no brushes or mirrors, so it’s just the palette that you pay for.
The double pictures swatches are in direct and indirect sunlight. Although it appears to have a shimmer, it doesn’t tranfer to the cheek as a glitter, so it’s very muted.
OVERALL : The powder applies just fine and gives a subtle bronzy color but that’s about it. It is no where comparable to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. The powder is not finely milled and although it appears neat in the palette, it had a tremendous amount of fall out. I applied it by swirling my powder brush over the palette and then applying over my cheeks, sadly the white bathroom sink I was leaning over to access the mirror was filled with bronzy powder falling out, something I never experienced before. I had much higher quality expectations from Revlon. The product quality was extremely unsatisfactory and I would compare it to the ultra cheap Elf brand, chunky and disappointing.
Just a quick post here.. It’s a lip crayon, twist up at the bottom so no need to sharpen.
Easy to use and glides effortlessly!
Matte finish. Shameless is a blackened violet plum color. Swatches make the color appear lighter for some reason, but trust me when i say it’s more blackened plum, I hated it !
OVERALL: It’s a nice product but the color killed it for me. PersonalIy, I don’t see any skin tone being able to carry it well without looking like an attention seeker for all wrong makeup reasons .. Maybe a different color would work better .. I tried a red one months back and remember not liking it either. Let me know if you liked this product, from a fan of matte lipsticks I was absolutely disappointed. Colors come off too bold.
Having used for a while, I find myself reaching out for these lip butters quite often for a subtle tint and hydration.
From the maker:
– Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
– Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
– Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine
– Available in 20 luscious shades
The top is Wild Watermelon and bottom picture shows Sorbet:
OVERALL: Soft and hydrating. Although don’t be misguided by the visible color stick , they are very subtle. And you will need to reapply every few hours, but defiantly worth owning.
It comes in a square tube with a twist n open cap. The tube looks just like the NARS Lipgloss. They come in a range of 15 colors in 0.20 Fl Oz/ 5.9 ml of product in Each.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip gloss for lips that shine with killer color. This weightless gloss makes lips pop with 5X more shine than patent leather Available in 4 new summer shades: Crystal Water, Bellini, Sizzle and Sunbaked.
A pop of weightless color with vivid, mirror-like shine. Outshines everything but you!
• Micro-crystal formula for 5X the shine of patent leather
• Plush applicator shaped to curves of your lips for smooth, even application of colour
• ColorBurst’s Elasticolor™ technology for rich color with a weightless feel
• Moisturizers and anti-oxidants such as sweet almond oil and vitamin E conditions and improves lip texture
• Available in 15 vibrant, on-trend shades
The L is single and R is triple swipe.
Top shot is taken in indirect sunlight and bottom picture in direct sunlight.
OVERALL : best results come from swiping on lips and then dabbing. It just adds a slight shine and no color. It feels light on lips for a gloss and definitely a good (and more pocket friendly) pass for NARS. It lasts fine but like any other gloss looses the shine but maintains the hydration after a meal. For under $8 USD, it’s a great buy!
Hello dear ones!
Today I have the Revlon Matte Lip Balm in color 240 Striking. It’s part of a 10 color collection in Matte Finishes. Now I love a great Matte finish lip color and Revlon is a great brand, so I had to try.
It’s a perfect Matte finish , easy to glide and apply.. Although the color was a bit not my type. Its highly pigmented but seemed to dry my lips.
Image shows single(L) and double (R) swipe on hand.
This is comparison , nude Lips and colored.
OVERALL: Disappointing…. Dries lips.. Maybe other colors would look better on me but this didn’t. Although yes, color is true to the package.
Hello friends !
It’s funny how the weather is switching daily from cloudy and rain to nice and sunny.. Confusing and annoying .. Can’t wait for the sunny skies any longer !! It’s like knowing what good weather is .. But no you can’t have it !!
Anyhow, I have the Revlon Parfumerie Ginger Melon to show you all. Its a fun bright orange-coral and smells… Ginger(y )- Melon(y) ….!! Really !
The formula was easy to work with, but it didn’t quite pop on its own so I applied 2 coats of it over a single coat of white polish as a base. Added a bit of silver on tips randomly (pictures didn’t quite catch the glitter) and I was quite happy with the results !! It’s a perfect summer beach color! Swatches with no top/ base coat.
OVERALL: Its a fun color and although the camera didn’t quite capture it, it’s really really bright… I don’t think it falls in my comfort zone, but it’s good formula and cream glossy finish, and the bottles are so cute !!!
Let me know if you will be giving it a try or maybe passing it …would like to hear your opinion .. 🙂
Hello dear ones !!
For those who have read my past posts
I am trying to be a bit lazy and combine two polishes in a single post .. Hope you will like what I chose to share ..
First up is the Revlon Parfumerie Collection member Fresh Linen, a pearl white polish that smells of laundry. Out of all those I smelt from this collection this one is most pleasing and subtle. The scent doesn’t stay on forever, mine was gone the next morning !
The formula was a bit on the runny side, but it builds up nice and 4 coats did well for full opaqueness. Although a bit streaky it’s got a nice satin finish into a pearl white color. The picture are shown with no base/ top coats and shade/ direct sun for comparisons :
The polish has a nice silver shimmer, that does transfer well in the nails .. A close-up in direct sun:
Up next is the polish from Nails Inc. , called the holographic top coat Electric Lane. Costs $10 USD and available at Sephora, kinda reminds me of Sephora Oh Zone! from their Formula X Collection: I used two coats over the Revlon Fresh Linen. The polish is so sparkly!! It’s a clear base with suspended multi colored glitter, I took pictures out of focus to capture the effects :
And finally: A comparison of the polish in shade and direct sun ..
OVERALL: The Revlon is a great pearl white and if you don’t have this color in your collection this might me a good choice to go for.
The Nails Electric Lane ( costs $10), it’s a great glitter coat over any polish for effects. I like it more than the Oh Zone! (Costs $12.50) because it carries a much more depth. I have however seen a similar polish in Ulta by China Glaze and it costs a lot less, plus it comes in a mini pack too… I have not used it but it looks similar.. So it’s not the rarest polish out there, but it’s a good one to own, great formula, easy application .. And who can ever have too much sparkles ..?
So let me know what you all think 🙂
Hello friends !!
I have had these pictures for a bit now but just couldn’t get around to posting it ..
So here is a product for all nail art “challenged” people like me …
With over 5 shade combos to chose from, I stayed with the conservative Pinstripe- Navy blue matte and silver Nail art side.
This is the Blue on its own, applies well, quick drying, single coater , no top/ base coat … The color it’s pretty amazing on its own too ..
I saw these designs on the Revlon displays in the stores, which I tried to recreate, and they were super easy !!!
(The pink in the flowers was added with a pencil tip)
This is sans top coat
This has coat of Seche Vite, sorry about the blurry picture
OVERALL: If you purchase this as a nail polish it’s a great color but don’t expect the quantity, but as a duo it is a great product, excellent formula, easy application and the best part super easy and fun nail art !!
Tip : I plan to use this quite frequently and once it’s finished, I plan to clean the tube and fill it with a golden and a silver or any other color that I most frequently want to use for future new art projects.. 🙂
Let me know what you all think and if you plan to buy it or pass it .. Would love hearing from you all … Love
Hello Dear ones !!
Spring is on ! So all color experiments are a Get-Set-Go !!
I have been hearing about the “staying” power of the Revlon Just BittenKissable Lip Stains, And I just had to give it a try. With 10 color choices, my pick was Rendezvous, a coral-orange. Since we have been seeing a lot of runway shows reaching for orange lip shades , it was an obvious choice.
Packaged like a removable cap lip crayon/ Chubby stick , costs between $7- $9 USD for 0.095Oz/ 2.7g it’s a twist bottom, so yes no sharpening needed.
This is single coat and triple coat on a paper:
And this is a single coat on my hand, it doesn’t transfer that dark or intense over skin .. So to see the color you will need multiple rubbing on lips.
This is before and after (multiple rubbing on the lips):
Overall : The color is more of a tint than orange color but I must be honest this does last hours!! You can eat or drink meals through it and even though it fades the tints stays hours. Last night I applied it and rubbed it off as a test and woke up today morning with lips tinted orange .. So my verdict. .. It’s a great product , the best lasting I have seen so far , but the color is a little disappointing on application .. Sort of “sits” on the lips till the gloss wears off and leave the color behind.
So ! Let me know what you think and if you might already own one or plan to buy one ..
Now the polish I have swatched is a really old one, but has its charms nevertheless…
It’s the Revlon Plum Seduction..
It’s a great cream formula, double coater , glossy finish, Super easy application.!
The pictures are taken indoors with direct sunlight with no top coat.. The color is more of a pink .. Fuchsia if I may than a plum ..but it’s pretty alright .. Great Spring/ summer choice ..
This was taken in shade in a sunlight room:
Finally : I put together a little nail fun .. Dotted with the brush using Ulta Encore pink
Super fun and super easy 🙂
Overall: great color and easy to use. A sure must have. No issues with drying .. Dries quick. Sometimes you need to use the basic colors and that just make it special 🙂
Let me know what you all think .. Would surely like to know ..
