Well well well.. It’s time to start looking forward to the upcoming collections!
As we step into September, I start smelling the pumpkin spice and cinnamon already. The Summer is not over yet but I am ready for fall/winter!!
Hitting stores October 2014, is the Essie Winter 2014 Collection, with 6 new shades.
Can’t believe the fall collections are out already! With first Opi and now Essie …this is the Fall 2014 Collection
PARTNER IN CRIME – like a creamy dark chocolate with deep undertones of mahogany
STYLE CARTEL – cobalt blue, the right type of cunning
DRESS TWO KILT – sharp and sensual
THE PERFECT COVER UP – cute, but calculated
FALL IN LINE – enigmatic, sensual silk
TAKE IT OUTSIDE – a fresh beige with pink undertones
OVERALL: The names suggest Scottish inspirations. Collection boasts of hues of grey and with the awesome Summer collections by Essie I must say I am inquisitive… Image courtesy NailSave
Ok fine, I bought the whole collection !!! 😛
Maybe I’ll miss a few lunches but I swear this was more important 😀😀
Sittin Pretty , This is a lovely lavender which pops when applies over white base polish. Pictures show 3 coats.
I couldn’t find this color the last time in store so when I did find this baby, I got her home.
The Essie Roarrrrange.
It’s a great cream formula, double coater.. Fiery and sexy bright orange !
It’s definitely brighter than any other orange I have from Essie so far.
This is Essie Roarrrrange (L) and Essie Serial Shopper, from the Too Taboo Neons Collection 2014…
OVERALL: love the bright!!!
The first one Is Ruffles & Feathers, called the peacock teal.
Great formula, cream glossy finish. I love it! 2 coats for the pictures.
I was a bit disappointed that it was probably a dupe to my LVX Viridian, turns out LVX is blue toned while Essie is green .. So I’m glad. The swatches show 2 coats of Essie on pointer and ring and 2 coats of LVX on middle and little finger. Personally Essie wins for me…
Next up, collection namesake Haute In The heat, a hot Rasberry color. Great formula, thick single coater for coverage. Cream glossy finish.
Not a huge fan if the color as I have quite a few in the similar shades, so I don’t see why I would spend $8USD again..although I did !
Finally, Strut Your Stuff, Cobalt Aqua Blue and the best of the 3!!
Single thick coater, great cream glossy finish, perfect in every sense.
Comparing Strut your Stuff (L) to I’m Arddicted from
The Neons 2014 Collection (R)
I’m addicted is 3 coats and lighter colored blue. Strut Your Stuff is darker blue and single coater. Swatch with I’m addicted on middle finger…
OVERALL: Fun collection. But not absolutely unique. I will pick the formula from this collection and the colors from the Neons 2014.
Can’t get enough Essie Too Taboo.. Hands down the best collection so far. Each polish has a great formula and fun color.
This is a neon green, more like a parrot green. 3 coats, with a base/Top coat. Dries semi-matte.
OVERALL: Love the color. I got this from NailSave for $5.50 Each it’s the best pricing I ever found !! Check it out, they have Opi and Zoya and a bunch of other great polishes at bargain prices 😊😊 can’t beat it 👍
Essie is on a roll this year!! With collections and colors to add the color to your Summer, it’s a new set of polishes once again 🙂
I didn’t get a chance to fully appreciate the Too Taboo Collection of Summer Neons and We already have 6 more brights from Essie-mill to look forward to.
Called Haute In The Heat?, featuring. 6 new colors for Summer 2014.
HAUTE IN THE HEAT
STRUT YOUR STUFF
FIERCE, NO FEAR
RUFFLES & FEATHERS
OVERALL: Can’t wait !!!!! 🙂
I went ahead and picked another one from the Neons Collection .. After I’m Addicted and Too Taboo I was getting impressed with the collection .. So I stepped outside my usual picks of colors and got Serial Shopper .. A bold and Bright Neon Orange …!
This is a comparison with the Essie Resort Collection Spring 2014 Resort Filing (L) and Essie Too Taboo Summer 2014 Neons Serial Shopper (R) .. Pictures taken in sunlight(L) and shade (R). The Resort Fling is a softer orange compared to the Serial Shopper which appears a stronger-brighter orange, the first Neon as it appears in this collection.
OVERALL: This was the worst formula so far. Pictures are with 4 (seriously) coats, with no top/bottom coat. The color needs layers to build up although the finish is streak free. It didn’t suit my skin tone but for a neon seeker, this might be a good addition.
My first purchase from the Essie Neons Summer 2014 collection
I’M Addicted was a big hit for me.
Now, I was sure I wasn’t buying any Neons since they are not in my “comfort” color zone .. But I couldn’t resist the pink color!
So, anyways .. This is the collection’s highlight .. Too Taboo .. A bright hot pink .. !
I won’t call it a real neon pink , but it’s a hot pink for sure 🙂
Single thick coater ,great formula, levels itself to a streak free finish .. Dries to a semi-matte !!
All pictures in direct sun , no top/base coat.
OVERALL: Yea… All right , I love it ! I couldn’t find any dupes in my collection, the closest was Essie The Girls are Out (it has a suspended glitter, Too Taboo is a prefect cream, the colors were also a little varied.. But the bottle broke before I could picture them ) … But Too Taboo is A must buy for summertime 🙂
I have been a bit disappointed by the pervious Essie collection .. Hide and Go Chic, so when I spotted the Essie Neons (expected to hit stores May 1st , 2014) today at Harmon Discount Store, I was super excited !!
Sadly colors didn’t look super “neons” or unique to be purchased but I liked this the bright blue baby that I brought him home 🙂
This is I’M Addicted .. A bright blue .. NOT NEON .. Just a bright blue .. Great formula .. Needs 4 coats to build up but levels out well .. Pictures are sans top/base coat ..
I played around a bit with my dotting tool and some color:
OVERALL : Fun color, easy application , good formula. Not a Neon by any means but yes this seemed the most catchy color amongst the whole collection. Let me know what you all think 🙂
