The shades are:

CERISE
ANTHRACITE
OYSTER
MACAROON
ESPRESSO
PEONY

The long lasting, chip resistant and non-streak formula is free of harsh and toxic chemicals. LVX products are VEGAN and formulated without the use of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, and Camphor. LVX is a no compromise nail lacquer that has superior formulation, is socially responsible and eco friendly. LVX nail lacquer is cruelty free. All products are produced in the U.S.A.

LVX Greige

I just went back to an old bottle of LVX Greige.

The perfect blend of gray and brown, Greige is a refreshing new neutral that conquers the traditional fall gray. The subtle brown undertones help this dynamic hue pair well with every color in the palette. Greige is the perfect neutral for fall and winter and it grounds this season’s collection with its versatility.

The polish applies so well, needs 2 coats for a creamy streak free finish. I love this color for a prefect blend with a formal look or a colorful attire.
At $16 a bottle, I must say that I am yet to see any other polish being able to justify the price tag. I own a few different colors from this brand and they have never stained, never chipped and have been the longest wear polishes I own.

And this is after 4 days, sans top/base coat…

So that’s Greige, for someone who doesn’t like neutrals and find them non-flattering to my skin tone .. This one is a big winner.

Essie Rasberry

Hello friends..
Today I want to share the Essie Rasberry. It’s a fun color, best described as a fuchsia-red (you know what I mean)..! It’s a cream finish, single coat opaque but two coats for best results. The best part is like the usual Easie formula, polish balances out itself on the nail so you get a smooth finish. Pictures are with a top coat.

20140212-170203.jpg

Since this is a berry color, I am holding the bottle against the LVX Chambord, swatched here, for a color comparison.

20140212-170723.jpg
Turns out, colors are quite different !! There is nothing like this color in my stash so that’s interesting 🙂

I added two coats of NYC Starry Silver Glitter , first swatched here on the ascent nail.

Turquoise Blues And Greens Comparison

Hello Friends!
Today I have a comparison post of turquoise blues and greens that I believe are somewhat similar…

The first two pictures shows a single thin coat application of each polish starting with L-R Essie Turquoise and Caicos , Essie Naughty Nautical, L’Oreal Not A Cloud In Sky, LVX Viridian.

20140206-101131.jpg

20140206-101140.jpg

20140206-101154.jpg

Overall: The Essie Turquoise and Caicos & the L’Oreal Not A Cloud in Sky trend blue , while the Essie Naughty Nautical & LVX Viridian trend green.
The Essie Naughty Nautical has flecks of silver shimmer that adds a dimension to the polish.
All 4 are cream formulas.
The L’Oreal & LVX could be passed as thick single coaters. I won’t rate the LVX Viridian and the Essie Naughty Nautical as dupes but they are both pretty similar colors just different shades..
My least favorite of the 4 is Essie Turquoise and Caicos 😦 , kinda gives a faded color look … However , I could use them as an Ombré Nails ..!

LVX Scarlet, Chambord, Viridian

Hello friends !!
I have three LVX polishes to share. My love for these polishes keeps getting more and more intense!
The quality is great, they don’t smell bad at all, don’t stain my nails and a look at the swatches will do rest of the talking 🙂

First up is the Scarlet.

Scarlet is an intricate color; polish one coat for a gray finish with complex maroon undertones and two coats to achieve a full captivating maroon-gray. This mind-blowing color is a must try. Pair Scarlet with timeless jet-set black.

I do agree with the description. It does appear grey with one coat but I didn’t like the look of it. The formula was a little thin and runny. I did shake the bottle to make sure it was not from settling of the glitter, however the consistency still remained thin. The polish does build well, dries quick and swatches are with three coats and a top coat. The polish does have a mysterious element to it, color changes to deep violet under a flash. Although not my favorite from this brand, it’s something that will be liked by others. It’s part of the Winter Resort 2014 Collection.

And this is under a flash:

20140130-000017.jpg

Up next is LVX Chambord

This groundbreaking raspberry exults energy and drama. This rich and deep fuscia is extremely appealing because of its complex red undertones. Chambord is the perfect sultry shade for summer and grounds our palette for the season. Pair this affluent color with nude for an ultra chic look.

This is a gorgeous single coater. LVX polishes have surely mastered the art of making single coater polishes that finish streak free with minimal user expertise required for application

I am holding up the LVX Chambord (center) with Revlon Cherries In the Snow (left) and the Revlon Red (right), for a color comparison.

20140130-085751.jpg

Finally ! Say hello to Viridian.

Emerald, named Color of the Year for 2013 by Pantone, is this season’s it color. Our adaptation of this stunning gemstone is vivacious and will intensify any outfit. Pair this bold green with soft and romantic purples, like our very own Azalea.

This is such a vibrant, vivacious and fresh single coater, streak free, rich cream formula ! ( I know but it totally deserves these adjectives !!) the pictures are without a top coat since the formula was quite glossy on its own 🙂

20140130-093252.jpg

I am holding up the LVX Viridian and the L’oreal Not A Cloud In Sight (right) for a color comparison…

20140130-093445.jpg

Overall : It’s quite impossible to NOT love all the colors and admit that it’s a great product. I have had not staining of nails after prolonged use and the polishes don’t smell of the “usual” polish smell…

LVX Nail Paints – Aubergine, Tribute

Hello beautiful people!
I have here the rest of my Purchase from HauteLook. Since there was a lot of pictures I could not fit the swatches in a single post. The Part One can be seen at the link. I shall cover two more swatches in this post. The first up is LVX Aubergine. Defined as

Aubergine is an affluent royal hue that provides us with a mysterious and romantic attitude. This refined purple is delicate yet empowering. For an ultra chic look this season, pair this majestic hue with gold tones.

The color was first pick while purchasing. The color was beautiful, the formula however was a 3 coater. It was a little too thin to my liking. Of all the polishes this one was the most difficult to apply.

20131223-174629.jpg

20131224-094849.jpg The color looks slightly lighter under direct light indoor. But the color is really beautiful !

20131224-095020.jpg The next polish is LVX Tribute. Defined as

Tribute provides us with serenity and tranquility. This particular blue is extremely appealing because of its energetic attitude and texture. It’s classic and timeless and yet its texture creates an edgy feel. Tribute has the ability to add sophistication and structure to your wardrobe. This beautiful blue can add energy and panache when complimented with a vibrant color.

It has a subtle silver shimmer and it’s a 2 coater.

20131224-100254.jpg

20131224-100306.jpg I don’t think the pictures justify the beauty of the polish. This ones a close-up under direct light indoors

20131224-100419.jpg Depending on light it shimmers. Now I do have another polish in dark blue that I have swatched before Moody Blues by Ulta and here is a comparison

20131224-100716.jpg

20131224-100732.jpgThe middle/little finger is the Ulta Moody Blues and the index/ring finger is the LVX Tribute.

20131224-101004.jpg
overall: I am really impressed with the polishes. They smell just fine and the colors are beautiful. They apply really well and look expensive. I didn’t wear them too long to evaluate their durability on the nails. So far they didn’t leave a nail stain. Also they are easy to remove. At $16 a piece I am not sure i will spend that on a polish bottle, but if you are ready for the splurge , you surely won’t regret!

LVX Nail Paints – Greige, Azalea

Hello people !!
For those of you who have been following my blog, I did mention earlier that I had purchased the LVX Nail Polishes from HauteLook. Now they did arrive a few days back , but unfortunately I could not manage a swatch.. (Apologies)… So today I am making sure I post them.
What I really want to mention is the smoothness of the formula! It was like butter over warm toast!! The brush was easy to use and worked very well. My purchase included 4 polishes..

20131222-004539.jpg
20131222-005027.jpg The first color I used was the Greige.
Defined as

The perfect blend of gray and brown, Greige is a refreshing new neutral that conquers the traditional fall gray. The subtle brown undertones help this dynamic hue pair well with every color in the palette. Greige is the perfect neutral for fall and winter and it grounds this season’s collection with its versatility.

This was an underdog. It turns out to be a very neutral beige-grey suede cream. It’s a double coater. Flawless and very glossy finish. Pictures with no top/ base coat.

20131222-010146.jpg

20131222-010155.jpg Next up is Azalea. Website says

Azalea is the ultimate accessory choice for Spring and Summer. Romantic and youthful, this pinkish lilac is soft and daring. For a calming look, pair Azalea with ultra crisp white and cool blue tones.

20131222-010443.jpg

20131222-010452.jpg I completely side the description, it’s most accurate. This was an “ok” color
During the purchase, turns out to be so chic and stunning!!!! I absolutely love this cream SINGLE coater! ( yes , single coat for smooth, streak free, opaque finish). Now I thought I had the same color in Revlon Enchanting. Turns out I was wrong , the picture shows LVX on index/ring finger and Revlon on middle/little finger

20131222-085810.jpg

20131222-085817.jpg So, this lady was again new color to my collection. Overall: Can’t get enough of the LVX. It’s a bit pricey, retails at $16 for 15ml/ 0.5oz … But I surely looks and feels worth it !
Swatches for the other two polishes can be seen here.

LVX .. The essence of all colors ..

Well hello there ..

I had signed up for Haute Look
A while back but didn’t quite find anything much to my fancy. The website is a part of the Nordstrom Stores which sells high end fashion brands for a discount. As a first time customer, I got $25 off on spending $50.. Hmm .. Not bad right ..
So today I came across the new brand of nail paints ( well not really new, launched in 2012) .. Called the “LVX
They retail for about $16 for 15ml/ .5oz.  Quite pricey for a pop might I say , but I got a good deal .. $7 per bottle .. And that’s not bad right ..
I have ordered 4 bottles to try ..

The colors were pretty interesting , although nothing like what I haven’t seen before, but surely not too common to miss ..
I chose ..
